Hey all,
This morning I've had several customers contact me from the US saying that even though they are watching my items, and could purchase them yesterday through the GSP they can no longer do this and all my other items that they are not watching are now no longer showing in the US.
To check this I've had somebody I know in the US check mine, and other UK sellers to see if its just me, but it seems its everybody! they can no longer purchase and the postage option is no longer showing.
Was the US Just turned off? or taken off the list?
Was there any news, or information on this?
This is a big hit to sales as eBay is used for global sales for us.
I know the UK was taken off the international program in the US for toys a few months ago, but i wonder if this is simliar?

Why is there no official announcement about this on eBay? It's not good enough having it tucked away on the discussion board.

Thanks for the official update.
Think there should be an announcement sent out about this. I just checked my sales that have not been paid for and one is to the US. Buyer likely tried to pay and got the "seller does not sell to your country" message and gave up. I've sent them a new invoice and tried to explain the situation so hopefully not a lost sale. Ebay and sellers could be missing out on a lot of money due to the lack of communication regarding this.

Thank you - can you advise what we should do with our listings? Custom shipping only? Turn off marketing to USA?

I can't understand ebays over reaction to this most countries have tariffs and the US previously had tariff with the Uk . tariff are for wholesale impor ted goods bought by an importer not individual items that are subject to customs fee rates , because if they were we'd already be having the same issue shipping to the rest of world .

This is pretty big. Why don't eBay put this as a banner at the top of the forums so everyone is aware.
Even your CS team is confused about what's going on.

Donald Trump ended the $800 de minimis for small packages originating from China (including Hong Kong) effective 2nd May. As per that article it had had a ripple effect; some Americans clearly panic bought from Chinese retailers prior to that deadline which will have caused significant backlogs in US customs. Backlogs mean delays and delays mean increased costs for shippers. This would partly explain the exponential growth in GSP charges for US buyers during the last week.

The nature of shipping low-value items to the US has changed with the tariffs, though. Americans used to enjoy a duty-free limit of US$800 on personal imports sent by mail or equivalent, no matter what the item's country of manufacture/origin was. Taxes, as they are in the UK, would be collected at the point of sale, eBay in this case. The duty-free limit--referred to as de minimis--no longer applies, and this is a radical game-changer when it comes to sites such as eBay. Most other major markets have some sort of de minimis in place, which makes shipping low-value imports easier.

Yes but I'm not in China I'm selling £20 used items of a vintage antique nature .Plus The China deal is being negotiated as i write this. The UK has a separate deal entirely . Previously to this new deal The US has had a 3.1% Tariff on the uk for decades and that never affected sales on items below a certain amount . Its only been changed to 10% and this has been in force fore 2 months and yet its only now that ebay has Suspended shipping to the US I've checked and customs duty isn't due on items from the UK Like Mine and most other sellers if the value is below $800 so hopefully ebay will sort this out soon because i don't want to have to go back to royal mail for international orders .
