Funds on hold - item delivered and good feedback received

I started selling on ebay a couple of months ago after being a buyer for quite a few years.

I got off to a good start selling some motorcycle / mtb parts.

All was going well, until my last 2 items were sold and ebay are now withholding my funds.

Both items were dispatched either same day or following day with tracked delivery.

Both items show as delivered and buyers have given good feedback that they are happy with the item.

I have offers on other items, but am reluctant to sell on ebay now, as it appears they are making up spurious reasons to steal sellers money.

I have had no explanation as to why this has happened, other than the usual 'the buyer may have an issue with the item' waffle.

The good feedback would indicate that they are happy with the item and my prompt dispatch times, however, the chat bot just sends me around the houses until I get the hump and leave the chat.

Does anybody have any insight into why this is happening before I remove all my listings and move to vinted?

Trying to make an extra few quid in these testing times, and I'm a hundred quid out of pocket as it stands!

Re: Funds on hold - item delivered and good feedback received

I am in the same boat. Item I sold Delivered two days ago and the customer left feedback immediately (as I asked them so my funds could be released) but eBay is holding onto my money another couple of days, just for the hell of it. I phoned the helpline and ranted at the person on principle and put in a complaint. If everyone accepts this it will carry on. I’m not desperate to sell on eBay anymore so I might go elsewhere. The new ‘buyer protection’ scheme has basically removed the ability to sell for Max £1 fee or 70 or 80% off the normal seller fees, so it’s even less incentive to carry on selling on ebay. There’s better and easier alternative sites to sell on these days, eBay are shooting themselves in the foot constantly and the resentment with sellers is huge.

here’s the link to have eBay call you to speak to a real person:

Hello, get the eBay helpline with REAL people! to phone you using this link. I’ve used it twice this week and they’ve called me back within a minute both times. I have complained about the BPF debacle.

Re: Funds on hold - item delivered and good feedback received

Having the same problem again, this is sporadic activity and on Occassion they released funds straight after the sales but now are withholding again. I have to pay for the items to be made which comes from benefits until I can get this going and I am so out of pocket I can’t afford food. This isn’t and over exaggeration btw I have no capital but desperately trying to be independent again. I can’t afford to wait for funds because they are bespoke items I design to get produced. I have no machinery to make these items myself, people aren’t buying direct from my website which I think is odd even though I have google merchant etc and I also have to pay for my website each month because I can’t afford yearly subs. I don’t really know what to do.. I have started to put on Amazon as they don’t charge me a lot of fees to be on there but not getting sales yet due to the long drawn out process of listing. I’m on my own and having to do everything myself and it’s very very hard. I used to work before a rare neurological condition and have all my life. I just want to be independent again.

If you were correctly registered you would not have to wait for the items to be delivered before funds were released.

Re: Funds on hold - item delivered and good feedback received

I am correctly registered and funds were being released straight away, when they haven’t at different sporadic times I have questioned eBay and they said because my orders aren’t frequent we do it to support the seller and buyer. The only thing o don’t pay for is the subscription to have an eBay store front. I am on benefits and my items are print on demand. They can take time to get made before delivery which I have to pay out of my benefits. Don’t accuse people you know nothing about

I certainly will acuse people I know nothing about. Ive just explained the
tracked item shows delivery using eBay postage and the seller has left
positive feedback. There's no other explanation , other than ...interest
on people's money.
Have a good day my friend:)

My reply wasn’t to you it was someone else and shows that, I agree with you. Not sure why you said the first part though when you didn’t say anything or accuse   anyone lol x

Same rubbish over and over.  Items delivered positive feedback received.
I’m selling more elsewhere with no messing around with payment.

This is just getting old. Stop holding sellers funds! We have bills to pay too!!!

Also need to apply 'old grey whistle test' where you FORGET that you actually have to ASK for your money earned in sales and ask to WITHDRAW balance otherwise they keep it for ages and laugh that you have other things to occupy your mind. Only realise when idly checking to buy and get offered my balance to purchase ..doh.

Yes. They must be sitting on millions for that reason alone.

Meanwhile, to withdraw money, I have to re-log in every time, and then click to cancel four different popups bugging me to sign up to MS Hello. (It could be the best thing since sliced bread but they've managed to annoy me so much with their popups I have vowed to resist it forever.)

I completely agree, why do I have to sign in AGAIN and jump through various very irritating hoops just to access the payments page? THEN I’m allowed to withdraw my funds which should really be automatically paid out to me!

Been doing a bit of research on this. Are you using Chrome? It may be the password manager doing this.

I have just changed the following setting:

[Chrome] Settings > Passwords & Autofill > Google Password Manager > Settings

and de-selected "Automatically create a passkey to sign in faster".

I not only got rid of the popups bugging me to create a Windows Hello PIN, but no longer have to log in to Ebay again to get to payments.
