Failed product

I purchased a PIR Security light from eBay seller,it failed after 5 months.Seller contacted several times but

no response.

I tried customer complaints at eBay,but as the conversation progressed it became apparent I was not

going to get any joy.

The person I spoke to would not enter into any discussion about statutory rights and cut me off.

This has happened to me in the past on electrical/electronic items,I should have learnt my lesson then!.

Ebays money back guarantee is for 1 month only.

Amazon are more reliable/helpful if one has a problem!!.

Re: Failed product

You cannot report this to eBay as they do not offer warranties or guarantees on items, just that they are just as described on receipt.  If they are not,  a buyer has 30 days under eBay's 30 day MBG,  Money Back Guarantee policy,  to return the item for a full refund.

If you bought this from a Private seller you are too late to claim a refund.  You might just be in time to try your payment provider for help with a refund.

If purchased from a registered UK business, who offered a guarantee and is now not upholding this,  then turn to Citizens Advice for your next steps,  if you wish to take this further.

Re: Failed product

The seller’s site was in ENGLISH,when I tried to contact them it was a SPANISH site!?!!.
So,what’s happening there??.
Not well pleased with this issue but it’s happened before.
You’ve lost a customer!.

Re: Failed product

I haven't lost a customer because I do not work for eBay, and am a mere member just like yourself.

Your item failed after 5 months, eBay have a 30 day MBG Money Back Guarantee policy,  no point contacting the seller after 5 months.

If it had failed within 30 days,  the case you needed to open would be in English and you would have received a full refund.

Re: Failed product

No help to you but I had a similar problem when I purchased a security camera.  I also had problems with it after just a few months, it has a rattle in it and doesn't hold it's charge.

When I first received the camera I had a message off the seller ..........

Thank you so much for your order,we hope you are satisfied with our product.
If you are satisfied with it,could you please do us a favor and leave an positive feedback for us?We would appreciate for that.
Once you left the positive feedback, the warranty time of your product will be extend 6 month,we provide free replacement service for you during the warranty period.

I said ...... Thank you for your message. I understand that this camera already has a 3 year warranty as stated in the attached photo. Is this correct? As you are offering me an additional 6 months?

Yes, our after-sales warranty period is 3 years. If you are willing to leave positive feedback, we can extend it for an additional 6 months.
Have a nice day!

Several messages sent to them but no joy!!!

I purchased it in April last year and first contacted them in June, so just 2 months after!

I agree your better off purchasing electrical goods from Amazon.
