Went to drop off a parcel with an Evri label from Simple Delivery only to be told that Evri haven't been collecting any parcels from my entire Weymouth/Dorchester area for over 3 days. Tried two other drop off shops to be told the same. Does anyone know why there is this problem and why can't Ebay send you a label for Royal Mail if Evrie not working down here?

i have had the same issue with both .
yodel 2 weeks ago had 4 parcels dropped off on sunday , no collection on monday and showed up as late dispatch when they were picked up on tuesday .
evri , had about 8 parcels by sunday eve , the van came later as usual on monday and driver complained had no space . he already said 60 parcels was too much while in fact the drop off point had 104 , driver said he would call in another van and refused to take any himself . though no van came and they were instead picked up monday before noon - while that drop off point normally has a collection time late afternoon . that counted as that day's collection and by the time i dropped off another 4 parcels there was already a pile they would not be collected that day . i went in today to drop more off and noticed about triple the normal volume in the parcel shop with several of mine still there .

This is a long standing issue and was debated at length at the NFSP conference available on YouTube a few months ago. Post masters were saying that Evri were often not collecting until after the items expected delivery date and would falsely claim their branch was closed when they didn't visit so the driver doesn't get in trouble and Evri could stop the clock in any service quality targets.
If you are a seller and don't want to use Evri you can deselect them in your account seller settings.

EVRI is the same parent company as Yodel, and there is another query today about Yodel not picking up either. Has the entire company gone on holiday at the same time?!

Are you sure about that? I thought Evri was owned by Apollo Capital and was being merged with DHL? And Yodel (Judge Logistics) is owned by Inpost who are owned by PPF Group? It's hard to keep track of all the overseas owners trying to extract all the value out of UK carriers.

Hi puddytat42009, thanks for your post.
Sorry to hear about this, I will report that this is happening with Evri and this particular location to see if there is anything we can do from our end. In the meantime, if you haven't done so, you can try disabling Evri from your postage preference here. Please note that you might still get Evri label, as it is possible that your preferred carrier can't accept your item. If that's the case, we'll provide you with a label for a carrier you've opted out of in your settings. For example, if your parcel exceeds your preferred carrier's size or weight limits, we may send your item with an alternative carrier.
Thank you,
Marco

Hi Marco,
No resolution for me!
I asked customer service to send me a replacement Royal Mail label and then got an email telling me to cancel my customers order, relist the item and then I would be sent a Royal Mail label when it sells.
I already told the guy I spoke to when they rang me that I was changing my preference to Royal Mail only!
So yesterday I returned to the post office and they told me they are still not taking Evri at the moment as still no collections. I took off the Evri label and purchased a Royal Mail Tracked 48 label out of my own pocket so I won't let down my buyer. Now I am left £4.05 our of pocket and only made £2.45 on an item I sold for £6.50.
Not good enough! Been selling since 2009 and very disappointed by this 😞

Thanks for your reply, puddytat42009.
Sorry to hear about this, but I've reported the above for you already. However, we wouldn't be able to provide a new label from a different carrier if the transaction has already been put through and a label was generated by one of the carriers. If the item is not collected or anything like that, you can try filling the refund form here to get a refund for the postage label to get that money back.
Sorry we are unable to assist any further from our end.
Marco

One of the problems with Evri's inferior service model is that their delivery drivers who dropoff the collection items usually do not collect anything and Evri send a different driver to do the collections. So a shop could have loads of Evri drivers arriving each day but none of them will collect the backlog of items to send.
That's different to the RM model where the driver both drops off the collection items and collects the item to send in the same visit. So if you post an RM item it might have multiple collections per day and if you post an Evri item it might take multiple days to be collected.

This is happening in Essex too! I have a bag of eBay parcels to send, all with eBays new simple postage Evri labels and it's far from simple when no shops will take them as they're all so backed up with Evri parcels that haven't been collected by Evri for 3 days +!
Every parcel shop i went to today refused to take my parcels and I'm stuck with them and hoping Evri collects from somewhere tomorrow when I do the drive around again! Things were so much easier before eBay messed around with our listings/postage settings!

I've got 3 parcels waiting to go to my buyers, they been sat in my drop off store since 28th September , I'm now having to go to a post office not near me for other items I've sold upon which they've been delivered.
Evri bot and customer services have been of no help, I've messaged my buyers who have responded in kind.
The drop off shop I use is of no help and says no idea why there's been no collection, as a seller I'm frustrated and if I was a buyer I'd be peed off.

My local post office has a backlog of 300+ items (it's not a very big building either) as EVRI hasn't collected since last Thursday.
I don't mind EVRI delivery as the couple who deliver are great, but I would rather not sell than use EVRI to send stuff.

Something needs to be done and fast as its the run up to Christmas now and things will only get worse. The best thing ebay can do right now is turn off SD or flip it to RM.

I recently had the same problem as a buyer. My item was posted on the Wednesday from Westhill on sea. 2 attempts to collect but the parcel shop was “closed” when they got there…
My item didn’t get picked up until the Monday after…
I even contacted Evri myself and said why would a courier go collect parcels after the shop had closed knowing what time they did close

I think something similar happened to my purchase recently. It was delayed and I had a heap of what I call random notifications but I think it was accepted at the parcel shop and then stuck there for a couple of days. I kept getting notifications that Evri had my parcel and delivery had been attempted, only it wasn’t delivery but collection as when I checked tracking, I could see it hadn’t moved. The item was delivered late but that wasn’t the seller’s fault.

That’s it. It’s not the sellers fault but I guess some will blame them.
I am also seeing an increase of parcels just left on doorsteps in my village…one yesterday on the Main Street left on the pavement in front of the door.
