Collection of Largish Items - is it working?

So I don't often have a collection only item but I have one that is too difficult / expensive to post.  I stopped collection only when eBay removed cash on collection.

How is it working for others if they don't use a phone for selling?  I use a laptop and desktop.  I suppose I could have my laptop with me when the item is collected so I can input the collection code?

But are there potential problems afterwards about the item despite the buyer checking it over and accepting it's what they want?

I know the site is heavily biased towards buyers even when the buyer has inspected the item with a magnifying glass!

There are potential problems after a buyer has inspected then collected the item:

(If the buyer decides the item isn't suitable, doesn't fit the space available, or whatever...... ) If the buyer can state that the item was 'not as described' (perhaps the seller's measurements were out by a fraction...? or something?) then it is the seller's  responsibility to get the item back.

Ebay will refund the buyer.

If the item is too difficult to post (which is why it was a collection in the first place!) then sending a returns label might be impossible.

Then it would be down to the seller to collect the item, send a courier for the item or leave the item with the buyer for free..

Just to add, you don't have to input the collection code immediately but it is the only way to make sure it is correct.

I enter the six digit collection code by using the "Confirm collection" link in the sales record; there's no need for a mobile device to scan the QR code with. Once the code has been entered and confirmed the item is handed over.

Now that collection items are paid for via managed payments eBay's Money Back Guarantee applies to all purchases. If a buyer opens an "item not as described" case after collecting an item - even if they open the case abusively - eBay will expect you to provide a return label or otherwise arrange return of the item at your own expense within 3 days of the case being opened.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
