So they've changed all my items to "collection in person"..?..without my consent..!
EBAY!...I do NOT want anyone turning up at my home to collect items.
Just STOP pi55ing your customers off with these stupid changes..it's like you're now going out of your way to be awkward..i've now had to put sales on hold whilst I have to change all my listings back to postage only.
Jeeeeeeeez!

On top of that they've gone and changed everything to Stupid delivery...which i've now also got to change back.
Cret1ns.

If they have changed it to SD, then you possibly won't have the option to change back now.
18-06-2025 10:15 AM
I read your post too quickly and thought they'd been changed to local collect only, no postage option.
Which is what I'll be doing myself if/when my own listings are forced onto SD.
People must be getting used to the idea of SD. Only 2 posts so far today in the mega-thread.
You should find it easy and quick to remove local collect by using the bulk edit facility (of course you shouldn't have to be fixing ebay's stupidity, just saying in case you've never tried bulk edit).

Threaten them with legal action.
They cannot change a live listing , involving charges, without the seller's agreement.

Is it possible though to change 280 listings with bulk edit?..all are different sizes/weights etc etc?
Have never used bulk edit before, sounds like more of ebay's fairyland nonsense to me.

Hah,not sure if you're being serious or not!?
They have changed all my live listings to "collect in person" though.
18-06-2025 10:43 AM
Not sure that people are getting used to it or basically just sick & tired of all this nonsense.
I've taken my eye off the ball here for a few weeks, only just noticed these changes to my items this morning.
Appalling how they treat their users.

Well,at the moment I am able to change them back.
I swear they do this to deliberately pee us all off.

Think that *postage or collection in person* is the default setting for SD, so imagine anyone getting swapped on to SD from custom post will end up on that setting.
The default setting should really be postage only.

100%.
But that wouldn't give ebay their little power trip.

Nonsense, the default, if they absolutely must interfere and force someone onto SD, should be to leave the local collect option unchanged.

Bulk edit takes a bit of exploring and getting used to. Before Oct 2024, when ebay started phasing in fairyland nonsense, or turning to the Dark Side, as I would call it, I found bulk edit was quite useful at times. Whether you'd be able to turn off local collection without also messing up some other settings, I don't know. If you've not yet lost the will to live, I'd recommend just selecting 2 or 3 listings and doing a bulk edit on them. Then if it doesn't go how you want you can cancel before hitting submit. Or, if you only realise after submitting, you can go and sort out those few manually. Keep experimenting and learning.
280 listings is probably not too many for bulk edit. I've changed 200+ in a single run. But I'd strongly recommend you start gently, make sure you really know what you're doing before you make any drastic changes. Y'know, like ebay, they always make sure everything's ok before they deploy anything.
(I wish I could find a suitable emoji to append to that last sentence)
Or, if you've already lost the will to live (which I'd perfectly understand), you could just end all your listings, raise two metaphorical fingers at the porridge-brains that saddled us with this, and move elsewhere. The more people who do, the more it might give someone relevant something to think about.
My listings haven't been switched yet. Not sure how I'll know when they have?

Thanks Lucy, I'm so forgetful! 🙂 Not sure how I'd create that one, but you got the sense anyhow! 🙂

Thanks for the advice John...spent half the morning altering things back to how "I want them"...this isn't the first time i've wasted valuable hours on this stupid site & did feel like losing the will to live once or twice.
But as John Lydon of Public Image Ltd says "anger is an energy" and I ploughed on.
No doubt the birdbrains at ebay are at this very minute planning their next move to pi55 us all off.
