Are funds realeased upon delivery or collection?

Hi

Can anyone help - i have recently sold a few items. Some have been delivered directly to the buyer so my funds are now into the pending status - however some have been dropped off at a collection point. The status of these are still awaiting delivery? Now technically they have been delivered so on my part as the seller, I have fulfilled my side so my funds should be released? Surely I don't have to wait until they are picked up? One has been at the collection point for 2 days already! The wording on ebay's help page is 

Your sales proceeds will show as Pending in the Payments tab - opens in new window or tab in Seller Hub, and will typically be added to your eBay balance 2 days after delivery confirmation, unless the transaction was placed on hold - opens in new window or tab.

My delivery has been confirmed as it has arrived to the point where the buyer requested - so long story short where do sellers stand if this keeps occurring? We are already being messed around with our funds as it is waiting 2 days - are we know expected to wait longer in order for the buyer to pick there item up?

I'm not sure what is going on at the moment to be honest...it looks like there is still some snags/issues with payouts which I and other users may be experiencing. For example,

I've received funds for items I sent RM Tracked 48hrs, 2days after delivery was confirmed by tracking - as should be the case/as advertised.

HOWEVER, for items I've sent RM 2nd Class Large Letter, purchased through ebay with the generic tracking number uploaded (which only confirms delivery if the postie scans it on arrival)...I have three items that have been scanned on delivery and marked on ebay/my orders page as 'delivered' and x1 'Funds available in ebay balance 15th Feb' and other x2 with same message for 16th Feb...but neither have appeared in my funds to withdraw, with my balance still showing as £0.00, but I can see funds 'still pending' in my account! So either the 2-day post tracked delivery 'funds released' rule only applies to TRACKED services (RM24/48 etc) and not other forms of tracking delivery, or the system isn't working.

On top of this, last week I processed a refund for a buyer for (combined postage) about 10mins after they purchased and noticed the refund came out of my 'available funds' instead of 'pending funds', so i no longer keep any £ in my ebay balance and immediately withdraw it, as ebay should deduct the refund from the pending funds on the sale/order they are holding back. Because of this I now withdraw all my £ when its immediately available rather than allow ebay to hold it for longer than necessary and accrue even more interest for themselves!

This means I'm no longer buying items on ebay as a result (from either business or private sellers) and doubt I'll continue selling my unwanted items once my remaining items sell and once funds eventually become available I'll withdraw them, all due to this fiasco.

The wording on eBay's help page titled "Getting Paid For Items You've Sold"  states:

• For tracked deliveries, funds will be available 2 calendar days after we receive confirmation from the tracked service that the delivery was successful

Therefore, your funds don't become available to you as soon as delivery is confirmed, but two days later. I'm pretty sure that includes "C&C" deliveries reaching the collection point.

I know...delivery was logged / recorded on ebay 15th and 16th Feb for the items i sold, as I explained above...and by my calculations that is more than 2-days but still no funds released! According to other posters on others threads i'm not the only one experiencing this either and its nothing to do with infrequent selling etc

You're right - eBay does seem to have real problems syncing the various tracking systems. However unsatisfactory it is, I'm sure both you and OP will get what's due to you, eventually. Hopefully eBay can iron out these problems before too long.

Thanks @vinylscot  - I'm not in urgent need of the funds so avoiding wasting my time and calling CS to chase it, and like you say, I remain hopeful they will suddenyl 'appear' in my funds. It's the principle that erks me. It's also a shame I've withdrawn what funds I had available and refused to buy on ebay going forward, as your name caught my interest and I've already seen a couple of items you have listed that I'd have been tempted by / looked at to purchase 😞

Just to update - my pending funds have now cleared (delivered and logged on ebay as delivered 15th and 16th Feb respectively), so after the expected 2-day post delivery wait for funds to appear, it actually took 4 and 3 days longer than ebay advertised. I've already withdrawn the funds immediately and deleted my watchlist of the items I'd been planning to buy. I'm sticking to my principles and no longer buying on ebay, I feel its the only way to try and impact ebays recent decision making to influence them to reconsider  and re-evaluate. If they don't that's up to them, but I wish all sellers and buyers good luck moving forward, as I for one will no longer buy on here as it is no longer a platform I have any trust in.

I hope others who were waiting for their funds have had similar success now too.

I took sold and item and funds went into pending. The item went to a drop box but was never recorded as delivered. I contacted the seller who confirmed it arrived but asked for a refund as too small. We agreed partial refund which went through. I now have no coat and no funds as it's still "waiting to be delivered". Very poor.

I understand that payment times for items sent to a collection point are based on when the item is collected by the buyer.

Great but it hasn't been recorded as collected and it obviously was as the buyer said it was too small and asked to return. So that didn't work.
