Anyone else expericing minimal views on *relisted* items?

Hey everyone,

I sell comics and collected editions, not as a business, just from my personal collection. I usually upgrade to new formats when they’re released or downsize when the shelves start getting crowded. I typically keep items listed for about two to three weeks, then switch them to auction if nobody is biting at my BIN price.

However, after my most recent lot ended and I relisted the items, they didn’t show up in the comic feed I usually monitor (they always have before).

On top of that, the view counts are abysmal; most are sitting at zero. Previously, before moving them to auction, they’d have at least a dozen watchers and around 50-100 views per item. I've been selling on eBay for nearly 20 years, and I've never seen my items get zero attention. These are very popular and recently released collected editions.

Has anyone else run into minimal views on relisted items lately?

@westboundsattic I think it is "glitchy".   I had a terrible weekend for views and sales but the views on the traffic stats keep changing. I had loads of watchers, more than views and actually it was my relisted stuff that was added to watch lists. They have done some changes to the way searches are done. Newly listed no longer get put behind promoted items, but only if you view it by newly listed items first. If your regular buyers search other ways you could be anywhere in the list i guess. It's another mystery.

By 'relisted' I'm not sure if you mean a manual or automatic relist but I know that with auto-relists the original date of listing still shows in any search, so when you relist you'll probably find them several pages down in the search results as items which have a later listing date would take precedence.

It's worth checking and if that is the case then creating a new listing rather than relisting would (should) result in the item appearing on the first page of a search fairly close to the top.

It's a manual relist.

@westboundsattic

If your item didnt sell the first time round, what makes you think that ebay will develop you a sale if you relist ?

Do you have a 'collectors' forum on social media for your kind of items which you could possibly promote your  auctions in a timely manner?

Set sales have to endure competition from identical sponsored items on your actual listings provided by ebay, which makes relisting less than positive.

Views and Watchers numbers displayed have been questioned by the community Managers on these boards.

Uhhh, because I've been selling my books here consistently for nearly two decades... 😂 I'm not asking about sales, I'm asking about the listings not appearing in the feed and a complete lack of impressions.

Oh sorry - when i saw nothing under your screen name i thought nothing listed, or is this the name you are not having listings show on? - Impressions fall under the same issue as Watchers, and Views - they are only 'Trust' numbers supplied by ebay.

Have you tried using "Sell Similar" instead of re-listing? It is now a new listing instead of an old one re-listed. Supposedly appears higher in searches.

its best to manually end your items if your items haven't had any interest for a while. wait a few days, then edit the title & description slightly. then relist.

Ok, did this just a few hours ago. Took a few minutes to get through everything, but all of my items appeared in the curated feed I follow, and the view count on some is already 500% higher... Good job eBay!
