Can anyone in the selling community help with the following question:
Are "Buyer Protection Fees" added to "Promote Your Item" fee's. i.e. If I choose a promotion campaign at say 10% add fee rate are BPF's added at the point of sale. I have a sneaking suspicion they are based on a recent sale. Can the community confirm as I cannot find anything official from ebay...many thanks.

Surely the BPF is based on what the buyer pays?

i think what you mean is are buyer protection fees included when ebay calculate how much you owe in General Promotion fees.
The answer is no
See a recent order of mine where I promoted at 2%. Postage WAS included as in this case it wasn't Simple Delivery so I received the postage proceeds. Another that I did that was Simple Delivery, it only included the Product Price.

If you click on the image, it should expand.
But in short - it calculated the 2% fee the campaign was set at on the Item Price + Postage (as it wasn't Simple Delivery and I got the postage proceeds to purchase postage from).
It definitely is NOT including BPF when working out how much to charge you for a General Promotion fee.

That's what I thought, but a recent sale led me to believe the promoted listing "Add Fee Rate" eg: 10% (correctly deducted by ebay in the net sale price) but .... the BPF was calculated on the Item Sale Price plus the 10% Add Fee Rate. In other words the buyer was charged BPF on both the item price plus the 10% "Add Fee Rate" charged to me. !!!!!!!!

You'd need to share a screenshot of what is being shown - but again have just looked and its definitely not doing that.
