In one particular thread about 'Simple Delivery' which I've been active in over the past few days, the suggestion has been made that someone - ie., me, an eBay member of 25 years - should start a petition.
With seemingly thousands of posts in numerous threads from members extremely displeased with both SD and the closely-associated BPF - which effectively replaced the 'Sellers Fee' that we all used to pay - perhaps it may be an idea to consolidate the strength of feeling in one place?
So, here it is - the closest we can likely get to an actual petition on this board - and please, keep it simple.
If you object to the mandatory implementation of 'Simple Delivery' and would like it either scrapped altogether, or made optional so those who wish to can use it - please simply post:
Scrap SD
or
Make SD Optional
And as the 'Buyer Protection Fee' is having negative impacts on us as sellers (and buyers, which many of us are too), and would like eBay to revert to the old 'Seller Fees' system (none of us can reasonably expect this platform to be run for free) then please simply post:
BPF - Revert to Seller Fees
Unless you only wish to register an opinion on one or the other, I don't see any reason why both SD and BPF cannot be included in single posts.
Maybe, if enough of us make our voices heard in one place, so the powers-that-be can see clearly, they might - just might - listen. Over to you.

Make SD optional, give people the choice of postage!!!
Buyers fees can be worked around, works out better on higher priced items not so good on items less than £5, pay more than 20% if less than £5!! have to list items less to account for buyers fees!!

scrap SD
Revert to seller fees

Make Simple Delivery Optional
Scrap Buyer Protection Fee
Charge a fair Final Valuation Fee

This is great - but where's it going?
Quite clear that a HUGE swathe of sellers (and buyers) aren't happy and what could be done - but at what point do we expect the "powers-that-be" to stop and listen ? on page 501 maybe?..

SCRAP SD ASAP

Why are people wanting the old sellers fees back most people opt fot this back in this feed?? The old sellers fees cost more? just do your sums, if selling something for £5 list it for £4.10 (89p buyers fees).
As someone else pointed out the old sellers fees was 30p+13.22%, buyers fees now are 75p+4%
So on a £5 item old sellers fees you'd be charged 96p, on a £5 item now sold affectively your getting charged 89p(if list at £4.10). Items much less than £5 this is where old sellers fees worked more cost affective.
Look at £100 item old sellers fees £13.50, new buyers fees list it at £95 and £4.55 buyer fees. So why would you want to be getting back less money?
So what you should be asking for is the new buyers fee structure implemented as sellers fees that keeps it simpler and items less than £4 need possibly 30p not a 75p flat rate or even less/scrapping flat rate fee under a certain amount.

But the point is eBay ran promotions with no sellers fees, which huge numbers of small sellers took advantage of.
Difficult to see how eBay could run promotions with no Buyers Protection fee and certainly not with no compulsory Simple Delivery.
They have backed themselves into a corner.
Without backing down completely (which the General Manager would not survive) there is no way out.

This is specifically a thread for posters to support the petition.
If you wish to have a discussion as to the pros and cons of re-introducing fees, please start a new thread to do so instead of derailing the petition thread 😉

I'm on board with no simple delivery terribly controlling idea! so not trying to derail this petition, it's the sellers fees, I personally don't want to pay more as this is what your asking for in getting sellers fees back, just wanting to highlight what your fully asking for which isn't stated fully.

I understand what the petition is trying to achieve, I think all are on board with option/removal of Simple Delivery and that's clear enough to understand, no where does it compare the costs of ebay fees to inform people what they are voting on so not as simple, this is all I'm trying to highlight. Give people the correct information to make an informative vote.
Where is this 700 signed petition I'd like to sign it against Simple delivery, I can only see around 270 messages on this post.
"Hi there,
What the Petition is trying to achieve is a return to simple Sellers Fees
and to allow Sellers to set their own P&P costs and arrangements without
the imposition of Simple Delivery, which by the way, probably breaches the
legality of allowing freedom of choice by effectively imposing a
RESTRICTIVE TRADE PRACTICE!"

Sounds exactly right - totally agree
Ebay need to remember where they started.
It is only a matter of time till one of the big tech companies takes notice of what is going on with Ebay and sees an opportunity to come out with something much better for sellers and finish Ebay off.

Well, you appear to have successfully done so, regardless of your intentions 😞

Given that this thread is not intrinsically a petition, and the change.org one (although rather overlong and anecdotal) has more than three times as many unique signatories as there are posts here (let alone unique posters, which is the only figure that would count), this might as well be just a forum for discussion of the issue itself.

Not done anything of the kind, mearly highlighting what hasn't been mentioned properly, proper information before a vote is needed and also brought to the attention that there is also a vote on change.org.

Please read the instructions in the first post. Here is a new thread you can use to discuss this thread, or make your own if you prefer.
