Hi,
Ive sold an item for just over £500 which i had listed for several months before simple delivery became compulsary. The buyer paid postage of £3 approx. The problem is that ebay had put in the postage as a large letter size obviously when SD became compulsary but my item a violin bow is around 80 cm long and i send them in a tube. I can see no way of getting a postage label. Imhappy toeven payfor thepostage myself but they dont now show the buyersaddress orhave a manual option to put in a tracking no. fordomestic postage. I cant afford to lose this sale . I always sendviolin bows in atube and by special delivery. Any suggestions????
Thanks

If you want to buy the postage yourself open the original SD postage label to get the buyer's address. That will also mark the item as dispatched. The label will remain unused and be refunded to the buyer in 30 days.
You should be able to change the tracking via View Order Details > Postage > Track Package > dropdown arrow > Add Tracking. That needs to be done on a desktop browser.
Or you can cancel/refund the transaction with the buyer's agreement (via the dropdown actions menu for the item on your orders list) and relist with correct postage for the buyer to buy and pay again.

Also if eBay converted this listing to Simple Delivery Large Letter, than the courier has agreed to use that label - regardless of size mistake. So you could try just sending it. Or follow excellent advice to send yourself using another tracked service.

Thanks , so i just open the label but do i print it out or not??? Ive gone ahead not printed it out but used the details off the label and booked a special delivery through royal site. Ive added the tracking number to the order. Hope it works.
Thanks very much ,i couldnt see a way around it without your help.

Yes, that's fine. It wouldn't matter if you print it out or not. It's unused as long as it isn't scanned at the post office.

I'll have to carefully check my other listings now.

If you use free postage you can apply for a refund of the ebay postage if you don't use Simple Delivery. Or for expensive items you can opt out of SD altogether. See the advice on here:
