I have an interesting problem:

I am expecting a parcel from Durham that was posted Royal Mail 24 at a parcelshop. So far - good.

Now, upon checking the tracking upon receipt of a Royal Mail notification that my parcel was ready for collection ( it was sent to my home address in Suffolk ) it transpires that I have to collect from the dispatching parcelshop!

The sender has dispatched with simpleton delivery so he has attempted to get it sorted with ebay cs who have just done the usual and fobbed him off with no assistance at all. All that they suggest is that I make a claim for non-receipt when due time is up - but as far as I can tell ebay will just close the case as it has been delivered! My address was correct on the label according to the seller and appears correct in the order details. ( I have never in my life used collection so I don't know where that has come from )

I have attempted to get Royal Mail to do a re-delivery which does not work as it just reverts to the tracking page.

Can anyone see a way forward with this - has anyone experienced the like before?

Looking at that I would suggest the parcel never left the post office or if it did has had a delivery scan on it from Royal Mail.

instead of trying to rebook online it may be pertinent to contact them by phone their number for customer services is 03457 740 740. Have the tracking number etc to hand.

Well.... after a long session with cs ( who told me to make a 570 mile round trip to collect it🤣 ) someone somewhere has managed to rescue it from oblivion and it has started to make its journey to me. I don't know who succeeded in this - Royal Mail re-delivery, seller, Parcelshop, my Facebook plea to Parcelshop owner, customer services, or someone else.

It is a strange situation to be in especially as ebay cs says that they are not responsible for sorting it out despite all their information in messaging stating that they will handle all queries concerning postage/delivery. How it was marked for collection as soon as it was received is intriguing, what the label says when it arrives may shed some light (or not).

Well all's well that ends well. It arrived! There is nothing on the label or box to indicate its strange hold for collection. I can only presume that somehow the parcelshop mis-scanned it into arriving parcels for collection - will never know for sure. More simple delivery at its finest!😀
