Hi wsmstoreparts, thanks for your post.

This is a current issue from our end, and we are currently working on it to get it resolved.  I've just reported that your account is being impacted, once this is resolved, I will post back here to let you know.

Re: oversized parcels - NO delivery service with Simple Delivery

I had the same issue a few weeks ago and ebay support told me to use Freight Only option and arrange to charge the customer shipping/freight separately. No, I don't understand how that works in practice either, nor did the live chat person.

Re: oversized parcels - NO delivery service with Simple Delivery

For goodness sake Marco - eBay is just not working properly anymore. I've just spent best part of an hour on the phone to CS trying to list a painting that requires posting larger than 61cm. I've been passed from pillar to post and eventually to your specialist listing department - who basically didn't have a clue!

Why is it everything requires hours on the phone each time especially getting funds released?

It's all a complete nonsense, ill thought out and there's no end in sight to the mountain of problems as you can see by the page after page of complaints on the forum.

Thing went pear shaped on 4th Feb when BPF was instigated and here we are at the end of June with things still not working properly and in a complete shambles if you ask me.

You still haven't sorted combined postage though I was told it would be fixed within a week of launching your so called 'Simple Delivery' which in itself is the most complicated and ridiculous system and then your preferred delivery company is Evri - the lowest ranking in the UK. I read somewhere that the eventual aim of eBay as a platform is to move toward the luxury end of the market and to attract high nett worth individuals !!!!! Good luck with that one.

Currently the mantra is 'don't list what you can't afford to lose and unless eBay get to grips with the mountain of problems, I can't see that changing anytime soon.

Don't get me wrong, I want very much for eBay to work and I'm trying to encourage people I know with eBay accounts to go with the flow and hopefully things will get sorted soon but patience has a limit so go to your superiors and try to get them to get their fingers removed from bottoms and get sorted - for the sake of your own business.

Re: oversized parcels - NO delivery service with Simple Delivery

On my private account I found a work around for oversized.

Go into selling, then find business policies, then select postage and create a new postage option for larger items. Ie oversized. You can add different couriers... When creating new listings you can then select this option. You can't amend an already sold item but it works on new listings.

I think this would be a direct link to the business policies page:

Re: oversized parcels - NO delivery service with Simple Delivery

It’s not marcos fault

It’s  eBay management not getting their ducks in a row before launching a dysfunctional system , playing around with it when it does and doesn’t work and making it all a mess

I don’t think anyone knows what they’re doing tbh

try this workaround

Re: oversized parcels - NO delivery service with Simple Delivery

It's almost as if ebay is deliberately experimenting on the UK marketplace for the longest time.

I just went to put up a listing and found I can't because I don't see how to NOT use simple delivery and have the postman allow me to use the BRING MY LABEL feature as I don't have a printer and the nearest place to get one, is too far away. I also understand this very issue is mentioned for years and 100% ignored.

Otherwise it looks like eBay needs no haters, when eBay is destroying itself.

Re: oversized parcels - NO delivery service with Simple Delivery

EBay says you can book a collection and ask for the label to be brought

in reality that isn’t working for everyone

Try the help pages on simple delivery and check that you’re doing everything right

re large parcels they were available to chose Ltill a month or so ago

no one knows the inner workings of eBay their problems strategies etc or why it takes them forever to fix things but

the outer workings in reality are an utter shambles and that’s down to them and them alone

It is what it is as they say and you have to work around the system if you can as eBay leave you  no choice

there’s always a way
