Private seller, and I’m aware eBay are heavy pushing simple delivery but Yesterday I was able to list everything with custom or simple delivery no issue, made about 15 listings with custom second class letter & large letter postage. Today the mobile app updated and now I can only select simple delivery 1KG parcel for £2.70 while listing the same things I was listing yesterday. If I select custom it just auto switches back to simple, if I select simple 100g it doesn’t set a postage cost and I can’t list an item.
the things I’m selling are cheap items, likely to go for less than £3 so no one’s gonna pay more for postage than the actual item they’re gonna get (at least I wouldn’t)
Is this just a bug in the system with the new update? Or am I now forced to list everything with £2.70 delivery and just pray someone wants to spend more on postage.

Figured it out for anyone else that might run into this on mobile. The custom postage is now hidden behind another click. You have to go into simple delivery > select the weight of the package > scroll all the way down and select switch to custom postage. You can then select all the usual options for custom postage.

This isn't an option for me. I have no ability to select Custom Postage - I miss when ebay was good.

the postage they put in for simple postage is not as much as it costs me to send via evri , so i have to increase my prices to adjust to cover the actual postage , ebay is now FUBAR . they will sink themselves.

I don't follow you there. With Simple Delivery the buyer pays eBay for the postage and eBay provides you with a prepaid label. No need to actually purchase the postage.
Most of your items are listed with custom postage, not Simple Delivery, anyway.
As you are making items to sell you should really be registered as a Business Seller. A Private Seller account is only for selling unwanted personal possessions.

You say "go into simple delivery" but there IS no option for simple delivery

I’m selling some jewellery and had no option to increase the basic postage rate to insure my items when I listed them. The blurb says I have to invoice the buyer after the sale for the extra postage to cover insurance, but what happens if they won’t agree to this? Am I expected to pay the extra? Two of my parcels have gone astray recently so I’m worried.

I called eBay you have to select only certain categories like art print to get custom postage small letter as long as they are under £20

Thank you. I did some more research and found something that said Simple Postage covers insurance:
eBay's Simple Delivery is designed to cover sellers for the full sale value of eligible items (up to £750 for many standard items) against loss or damage during transit, with eBay handling the claim process, not you or the carrier directly, provided you use their label and follow their terms. The key is using the provided prepaid label and ensuring the item meets size, weight, and price ($£750 or less) criteria, making eBay the insurer, not the carrier (like Royal Mail).
I’ve just sold something for £120 … If that ends up slung in someone else’s garden (‘handed to the recipient’ I think they call it) or just lost, and I can’t get compensation, I will not be happy!

They really don't want you opting out, I suspect they make a lot on the postage.
"It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'".

EBAY ARE VERY RESTRICTIVE WITH THEIR POSTAL METHODS AND VERY RANDOM, LIKE ALL BIG BUSINESSES THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE SMALL SELLER
