This is really easy to understand. 2nd class post is an estimated 2/3 day delivery service, therefore, anything posted on a Monday has an estimated delivery day of Wednesday/Thursday, right? Wrong, not if you work at eBay it isn't. I posted an item on a Monday, I have proof it was delivered on the Thursday yet the buyer left negative feedback saying it was late! When I spoke to a so called 'supervisor' at eBay he said that according to eBay it was delivered late!!
Do sellers realise that if a buyer makes a purchase over the weekend eBay are now telling them that the estimated delivery day is Tuesday/Wednesday? 2nd class post will NEVER be delivered the next day but trying to get the so called 'supervisor' to grasp this simple fact is like pulling teeth. The clue is in the title Royal Mail 48, how can it possibly be delivered in 24 hours??!!
My cut off time is 2pm so if a buyer makes a purchase at 11am on a Monday eBay rightly tell them that delivery will be Wednesday/Thursday. However, if the purchase is made over the weekend eBay say the delivery day is Tuesday/Wednesday, even though it doesn't get posted until Monday, obviously. Can anyone fathom how eBay can be so utterly blind and stupid as to not understand this simple issue? They are absolutely clueless. If they try and tell me about parameters and algorithms once more I swear I will explode.
It has been well documented that over the last 3 years they have lost millions of active sellers and is it any wonder??!! I have been selling professionally on eBay for over 20 years and used to absolutely love it but now I absolutely hate it and cannot wait to finish. That is solely down to how eBay is run and the complete and utter lack of support from eBay. Even when an issue like this is as plain as the nose on their face they refuse to help. Their so called customer service is absolutely abhorrent and they have nothing but contempt for sellers. They are worse than useless!!!

What does it say on the order page e.g.
"Estimated delivery date shown to buyer: 28 Apr 2025 - 1 May 2025"
If delivery was tracked by the last date, show them this:

"2nd class post will NEVER be delivered the next day but trying to get the so called 'supervisor' to grasp this simple fact is like pulling teeth. The clue is in the title Royal Mail 48,"
Are you using 2nd class or RM 48?

2nd class post is a lottery. 13days for one item I bought on ebay recently.
It's worth putting in the description delay is likely if this postal choice is picked.

I've just added a post about the same thing (first time on the forum, so not sure what I'm doing!). I so agree, it's a nightmare!
I do mention it in the description, but bay's date is much more obvious to buyers.

I sold a couple of items on a Sunday (using Simple Delivery evri and RM) and delivery date was listed as Weds or Thurs. I don't know if ebay have adjusted it since your original post or if its random- they do have a history of giving their customers inconsistency with things like postage and seller fees!
It's very unreasonable that ebay won't help you with the negative feedback especially as it was ebay who promised something impossible to the buyer. You posted when the Parcel Shop was next open and within the posting time period you set up.
If there's an option to reply to the feedback and say you posted it the next day but ebay set delivery expectations shorter than was possible according to the courier delivery times. I'd do that whether you're going to continue selling on ebay or not.
It's always been an issue when the courier is late but yours wasn't in this this case - it was ebay who messed up, not the courier or you.
Ebay should put a statistic on the feedback page on percentage of sales dispatched within the seller's timeframe. Ebay should also remove negative fedback if the parcel was delivered late but the seller dispatched it on time. Especially now ebay is imposing which courier is used from a very limited choice onto the seller.

I had a buyer cancel an item in the last few days, reason given - "will arrive too late".
They see one delivery estimate on the listing, then are given a different, longer delivery estimate after purchase, neither of which bear any relation to reality.
'Express Tracked' shows a longer delivery estimate than 'Standard', at extra cost. Who's going to choose that? CS say they are aware of the issue, but still nothing is done.
How have eBay managed to break what was a reasonably functional system so badly?
I had to put a 2-day handling time in because it was telling buyers ordering Sunday night that their item could be delivered Monday morning on RM Tracked 48.

That's a completely broken system. They took it from another well known selling platform but put extras/restrictions on it that screw the seller. You have to wonder sometimes, it seems so incompetent it must be deliberate.
