Today was a nightmare. I went to the Post Office as usual to send of my eBay item only to be told the label could not be be scanned as the system says it is invalid. I have never had this problem before. I assume this must be a mistake so I head off to the next local Post Office and try there. The puzzle starts to unravel a little. Here too I get an invalid scan but the customer service agent informed me that the system is rejecting the label based on the tracking number prefix of YA. So I come home cancel that label and regenerate a new one on the Royal Mail website but this time I use the QR code option to scan at the Post Office. Here the label pops out of their machine but still there is an issue. The customer services agent says he cannot give me proof of posting as the system is still rejecting the new YA prefix label and there are now notices going around to Post Offices to be beware of eBay generated labels. So he takes a picture of the label using my phone and then gives me a session receipt. What good that will do if the parcel gets lost I don't know. What the hell is going on? Earlier this week all my Tracked 48 labels had a prefix of TA. Why the change now? Anyone else experienced this today?

most of my packages were scanned during the night and early morning. But when I click on the tracking of the scanned packages and go to the Royal Mail tracking page, then click the red ‘Track your delivery’ button – nothing happens 🙈 It’s like the page doesn’t work? I’m not sure if it’s just my rubbish tablet or if it’s the same for everyone?

Hi All,
The issue with the track48 YA labels has been resolved. The Royal Mail systems are now accepting the parcels so you should be able to send them through the Post Office. If you were unable to send your parcels and new labels were purchased the original labels can be voided.
For Simple Delivery, the buyer purchased labels will automatically be refunded to the buyer within 30-40 days. For seller paid labels a refund request can be submitted through the webform within 14 days from the order date.
For non Simple Delivery eBay labels, they can be voided within 14 days by going to postage labels on your account.
There will be automated protections in place for impacted sellers for late shipment and INR service metrics.
Thank you,
Kat

30-40 Days? Madness....!

Depends on the interest rate provided. 30-40 days at 5% per annum is actually pretty good going. 😉

I just dropped off a parcel now, it’s working fine now. Just not showing up on eBay yet that it’s been scanned but the Royal Mail tracking shows it’s been dropped off.

That's for buyer paid labels. The buyer hasn't incurred any extra cost - i.e. they haven't had to pay for a 2nd label. (If I understand correctly.)

Problem still not sorted at my regular Post Office this morning. Went to drop off my Parcels at the customer service till and still the labels are STILL scanning as invalid. So the customer service agent called over to her colleague, Joseph, who motioned for me to try come over and try his scanner. Well funnily enough they scanned and I got a proof of posting receipt. I asked him why his worked. He said it might be the glass the other customer services agent was scanning through. I don't buy it tbh as I have taken stuff there numerous times and that was NEVER an issue. However staff there are now fully aware of the issues and are very frustrated by them as they receive a lot of eBay packages daily.
