What does 'your funds' mean as source of postage payment?

I paid for postage through ebay (or thought I did) and received an email including the QR code and details of payment. In the 'Service summary', within the email, the source of payment for the postage was described as 'your funds'. What exactly does this mean please?

My issue is that the item was lost in the post requiring reimbursement to the seller. In turn I received my money back too, including my postage. However, some time later I was charged for the postage.

I can't understand how I could have received the postal service and an email suggesting payment was correctly paid from 'my funds', without paying initially! And in fact I'm not happy I could receive a service without paying - I'd rather any issue be noted at the time for me to resolve. I dislike financial surprises.

Thanks community.
