So I just Purchased a medal on the 5th April 2025 from a seller costing me £100. Seller quickly packed it and used Simple delivery process and sent me the Royal Mail Tracking number on the Simple Delivery Label.
I checked on the 7th April 2025 the Royal Mail Tracking number on their site. According to Royal Mail the Item was Delivery 25th Aug 2024!!!!!. This Number came off of Ebay, and according to Royal Mail the Package can time travel. The seller has contacted Ebay and they have no idea what has happened. So if it goes missing according to Royal mails its delivered, so we are going to loose out.

Someone else reported the same thing yesterday.
As the tracking number is supplied by Royal Mail it must be something at their end causing it, so not eBay's fault. Very odd!

in all the years I have used Royal Mail, this has never happened, but now I* have heard of this happening twice in 24 hours and both with Ebay in the chain, I think we know where the problem is.

When eBay suddenly see a sharp upturn in the number of Item Not Received cases opened, possibly followed not long afterwards by a significant decline in sales on the platform as buyers finally lose faith in eBay and turn to rival platforms such as Amazon in ever greater numbers...

Aren't sellers protected against item not received claims as long as they use the SD label?
