I hadn’t sold in a while but have been a member for 22 years. I just sold three CDs and used the simple delivery option. The generated QR codes for the postage labels were useless so I called eBay and was told they would sort the labels out within 24-48 hours. Five days later I’m still waiting for them.
how can it take them so long to cancel unusable labels and make some new ones? If it’s a problem with the Royal Mail 48 service just change it to something else! It feels like eBay customer service just hasn’t got a clue.
I used the chat feature to chase it yesterday and was told it could take 5-6 days! Probably next week when I chase it again they will want to wait a whole month.
Simple delivery as a seller puts all the onus on eBay not to screw it up, and if their response time to fix simple problems like this is more than a few hours, I can’t imagine anybody wanting to sell on their platform anymore.
Simple delivery needs a full opt out or eBay needs to learn how to provide actual customer service.

Finally got the replacement labels today! They’re a completely wrong size for the package (large letter needed and medium parcel supplied) but they seem to be working. For the extra cost it would’ve been better to upgrade to 24 hour delivery!
last time I let eBay manage postage for me that’s for sure!

Why were the labels unusable?
I doubt very much that eBay will provide any replacement labels so I don't know why you have been told that.

The generated QR codes provided for Royal Mail can be scanned by them but are not recognised by their system. No labels can be printed from them.

Did the CDs all sell to the same Buyer? Or to three different Buyers?

Three separate buyers. Still heard nothing from eBay.

And did you pay for Simple Delivery? Or were they Buyer Pays?

The buyers paid. Yeah I did consider whether I could cancel the postage and do it again myself, but I can’t see a way to do it when the buyer pays.

You cannot cancel the postage, but if it's not used , and the buyer initially paid, they will be automatically refunded for that postage cost, but it can take 30 days. Might be worth sending them a message, to explain this.

Sure I could tell them they will get a postage refund but they would rather get the item they bought! I’m not paying for postage myself, it makes no sense. I may as well just give the stuff away and I don’t need eBay for that!
