Simple Delivery Charged Royal Mail Rate But Gave Evri Label?

Hi,

I've just made my first sale since being forced onto Simple Delivery.

My lot is in the the 1-2KG weight band and this was correctly applied to the list and the postage for this should have been Royal Mail for £3.38.

I have been charged correctly, but provided a label for Evri, not Royal Mail.

I am worried this will cause problems as the Evri label for the same weight band is supposed to cost a bit more: £4.06.

Has anyone else had this happen?

I have had it a couple of times, there were no problems at all when sending.

e-Bay have negotiated "Special Prices" so it'll be OK.

When you list something e-Bay recommend a size/weight.  Providing you accept that they will honour it no matter how big/heavy it actually is.  I've sent several over-size/-weight items and there have been no problems to me or the Buyers.

Re: Simple Delivery Charged Royal Mail Rate But Gave Evri Label?

That is very worrying - and frankly a bit 'wude' of eBay to over-ride your preferences - but it seems that's what eBay are doing with everything - despite not owning the item!  My last sale was 30 June then I was forced onto Not-So-Simple-Delivery so not happened to me (yet?!).  I wonder if, because of my moaning on here, my items had 'Invisibility Cloaks' for the past 14 days?

Couple of days ago I revised every one of my listings (around 60).  The majority of my large letter items had been changed without my knowledge or approval to Small Parcel.  I changed them all back to LL (except for the ones that actually were small parcel).  I used 5 days dispatch (to cover illness, car problems, family issues) but my listings were all changed to 2 days dispatch.  I changed them all to 3 days which is the maximum on Not-So-Simple-Delivery.  And many of them had been changed to 'Buyer Pays' when I only use free postage so had to change them back to 'Seller Pays'!

I have to go into hospital for 2 days.  I can't risk coming back to find an item has sold on the day I go in and may not be able to post on the 3rd day.  My dispatch record has been 5* for years!  So today I ended them all!  It will be a lot of time and hassle to relist some of them (a lot with no interest will end up at the charity shop) and I will have to check each and every one that nothing has been changed back in my absence, i.e. 2 day day dispatch, etc.   My items are all listed with Royal Mail (Evri not selected) as I post my items on my way back from work (2 days / week) - and Evri does not have any drop off points on my route home.  If eBay supply an Evri label in lieu of an RM one I will have to make a detour at my own expense.

But seems eBay knows what's best for me!  Go figure!

Re: Simple Delivery Charged Royal Mail Rate But Gave Evri Label?

I don't have many active lots at any one time, but I had one lot that had the wrong postage on it when I realised I'd been forced over to Simple Delivery. No warning that my listings had finally been converted by the way; I only noticed by chance the day after I'd previously sold a lot of the same size (2-5KG) and shipped it as normal.

I feel like if this had been changed for me one day earlier I'd have been in trouble as they'd have given me a 1-2KG label for a 2-5KG lot.

The cheaper postage rate is nice but I do feel like they're taking more and more control away from sellers.

And it wouldn't have mattered.  See my initial post in the thread.
