Simple Delivery - Change after selling

Hi there,

I've recently started listing on eBay and I've got a real headache in relation to eBays simple delivery system.

I sold two items and proceeded as I normally do, packaged and purchased my own postage labels from my preferred courier choices. I then handed the parcels in at the post office and when I came to confirm despatch and add tracking is when I realised that it isn't that simple (no pun intended)....

Now, I cannot upload tracking to these orders as eBay is assuming I will use their pre-paid labels. I have since managed to confirm despatch on both orders despite this not working originally, and messaged both buyers to explain the situation along with providing tracking information.

My worry now is that eBay are going to automatically assume my orders have not arrived on time as I cannot link the true tracking details. Is there something that a buyer can do on their side to confirm receipt of an order and therefore release funds to myself when applicable?

I have emailed eBay but with a 48hr response time I wanted to see if there's anything I can do before then and avoid appearing as a poor performing seller on eBay.

Please note I have since realised that turning off simple delivery isn't as straight forward and almost hidden on the site, all items have been listed using the app. I know this is still an oversight on my part but very frustrating after returning to eBay a good time since last selling on the platform. I at least now know how to avoid it and have updated any other current listings.

Thanks,

Ryan.

You will need to contact eBay (request a callback or use Live Chat) in order for them to add the tracking.  It is no longer possible to do it yourself.

Without tracking payment will be released 14 days after date of order.

Using your own postage label instead of the Simple Delivery label provided by eBay means that you won't receive any payment for the postage unless the buyer is prepared to reimburse you separately.  Your buyer will be automatically refunded by eBay for the unused Simple Delivery label in around 14 days time.
