Label manipulation by seller?

I bought a laptop (MacBook Pro for £1300) from eBay UK last Friday. The seller made no contact so on Monday I asked for an update via messaging. They didn't reply but did add a Royal Mail Special Delivery tracking number. Since then, the Royal Mail tracking web site has shown a message saying we're expecting this item i.e. they're waiting for the buyer to drop it off. Last night I got a Royal Mail email to say they would deliver my item today although the tracking still said that they were expecting the itrm. This morning I received another message to say they would deliver my parcel from their Lancaster delivery office which is 35 miles from me. At around 1pm I received another email to say it had been delivered. It wasn't delivered to me so I checked the proof of delivery and it shows a Tracked 48 label with a Special Delivery tracking number and another recipient's name and address.

I've now messaged the seller four times but haven't received one reply which stinks to me because if I posted a £1300 and the buyer was saying what I've just described as happened, I'd be on the case immediatley making sure I don't lose my money.

Has anyone seen anything similar?

Re: Label manipulation by seller?

Just to add, the tracking number is a Special Delivery tracking number and the one the seller added to eBay but the label is a Tracked 48

If you're outside the delivery window, open a claim for non-delivery.

if the tracking uploaded shows delivery to different postcode, you shouldn't have any problem.

Re: Label manipulation by seller?

eBay accept that the parcel wasn't delivered to me and have said that I will receive a refund. My post was because it feels like a scam, how does a Tracked 48 label addressed to someone else have my Special Delivery tracking number and why is the seller so calm considering it's a £1300 item.

I am sure that there was another post fairly recently of exactly this scenario being reported. Has scam written all over it.
