Is this ever going to be fixed? I have items I need to ship out but can't, I have things listed that I won't be able to send and I have dozens of other items I need to list but won't be able to ship.
What's going on with this issue it's been a problem for months

Same here, saying that the problem lies with Royal Mail

I have posted a similar item just now. It cannot be royal mail because if you go on the royal mail website site you can book it without any issues. I have one i wanted to get collected today but can't

Just to add to that this is the first time I have encountered this problem would not be so bad if you could see the address so that you can book it yourself. I stated in the post that I just posted (did not see this post before I did mine) that I would be happy to take the myself to keep the buyer happy
Ebay have just made life more difficult and taken away your freedom of choice.

It seems to be a Royal Mail issue, the click & drop service is down. Packlink still working ok
19-07-2025 6:44 AM
That's strange as I have just gone in to royal mail to do a test collection and it seems to be working fine took me to the payment section
19-07-2025 6:48 AM
And I have just googled for any issues and they say everything is working OK?

The Click and Drop business domain (auth.parcel.royalmail.com) is different to the retail site (send.royalmail.com). I assume ebay's RM labels are generated via the business domain.
RMs own C+D service page does still show the site as working though.
https://clickanddrop.statuspage.io/
However it is down

Ah didn't realise. But as previously posted in other post in these instances we should be able to get the buyers address so we can make our own arrangements if we want to take the risk one thing I hate doing as I am sure others do and that is letting buyers down

Even if we get the addy and post ourselves it won't count as sent or delivered, we only get the payment after successful delivery.... So what can we even do
19-07-2025 9:34 AM
If you believe this or not I have just finished on this and seemed to get someone who actually understood and they said they are working on it double quick!
19-07-2025 9:38 AM
I have said to ebay that if not resolved by 3pm tomorrow will make my own arrangements and take the cost and risk and inform the buyer of the tracking and hope for the best
19-07-2025 9:44 AM
The same is happening to my orders, I hope a resolution to this issue is found
19-07-2025 9:48 AM
Well this is where the problem comes in when you are forced into using something with no back up plan if there is any is this is a good reason why they should have kept custom postage so you had the choice of what to use i am sure not many private sellers would opt for sd by choice

I just got off the phone with customer service, it seems like the fault is with royal mail, he said the qr codes that ebay have been generating aren't working so ebay have made them unavailable for us intill it has been fixed. advised me to wait it out until monday and then if still not working to get my own postage sorted and get refunded for it

There is a workaround of sorts. Royal Mail's Click & Drop and integrated online label system (for eBay labels) has been down since around 7pm yesterday
But you can still manually buy online labels via the Royal Mail website for your eBay sales. Just click on 'Send Your Item' from their website and go through the steps to pay/download the labels.
It takes longer since you have to fill in all the details on each order, but it works. I've just been back from the Post Office having sent yesterdays eBay orders and copy/pasted the tracking numbers.

That's what I am going to do if not back up by 3pm tomorrow i was hoping I was going to get rid of it today but one way or other it will go on Monday

The problem with doing it this way is that if you selected "buyer pays postage" in the listing then eBay automatically charges you for the label at the moment of sale. Even if you haven't requested a label and don't use it eBay still charges you, and if you haven't generated the label it doesn't show up in the 'postage labels' section of your account, so there's no means to cancel it and get a refund.
I found this out a while ago when a buyer requested a small item to be sent in a larger box, so I had to use a different postage rate and do everything manually, and ended up paying twice for it.
All in all, simple delivery is a mess.

If you select buyer pays and then do not use the SD label, the buyer not the seller here, is automatically refunded though it does take 30 days.
If you had seller pays and then select your own postage, again SD label not used, here the seller needs to manually cancel the label and do so within 14 days for a refund.
Here's a link in case you need it for any future sales.

If I arrange the postage myself once it starts to work then I will generate the label and then request it to be cancelled. To be honest I would rather pay twice then to have a disgruntled buyer. If someone gets a refund then all well and good
