Ebay holding funds for delivered items, even after feedback.

Ebay has become a sham.

You are now expected to pay mutliptle postage, without any funds and wait until. EBay decide to pay you funds.

I have an item that he's been delivered and positve feedback received yet days later its still showing as awaiting delivery.

This is becoming a massive problem.

Ebay will lose so much business.

It's not good practice to send items and have several hundred pounds on hold until when eBay decide to pay and continue to make a fortune in interest on your money.

If this continues, people will just give up and go elsewhere

I've started moving items to Vinted as they payout quicker and their buyer protection fee is less than eBay's.  If eBay aren't careful Vinted will steal their business away.

I'm thinking of doing the same.

It's become a joke

If the item has been delivered but your tracking is not showing this,  eBay are currently experiencing an issue with tracking on some items not updating.

I'll tag Community Manager dave@ebay   who is dealing with this,  and he can add your account to the ' bug ticket'.

Be aware,  you are able to use any pending funds to buy postage, if there is no money i the Available section of your Payment Summary.

How can you use money if the balance available is zero but the processing funds are sitting.

Tbh. Ebay need to introduce somekind of system where people have to confirm delivery and release fees or at least a positive feedback confirms delivery.

In a situation where the delivery is not updated as delivered or the buyer has not left feedback it means the money just sits. Its not on.

Awful way to do business. After many, many years on ebay, I'm thinking of moving elsewhere.

Yes, why not to copy Vin Ted all the way and allow people to get money after a feedback / confirmation is given. Many people do not confirm receiving their order but still it is only 2 days before your money is released shy ebay cannot implement the same??

Vin Ted is not the best for expensive or designer goods. It  is easy to scam a seller by claiming his goods are fake. vin ted will demand a receipt from the seller and if you don't have it the buyer will keep the item for free and you could get banned. Each site has pros and cons so best to learn in advance.

The problem with Vinted is that, for buyers, it's still risky for high value items, as the buyer has to foot the bill for any returns (even if it's the seller's fault). That's why, with only one exception, everything I've purchased to date from Vinted has cost me under a tenner.

Yes my funds are on hold even after they have been delivered to a buyer and they have left me positive feedback presently I have over £300 pending, Its not fair. Its a bit of nonsense them saying its for secuity , if here has ever been any issues at all with an item beiing rejected by a buyer Ebay have very quickly stepped in and refunded them, the have always had that option at their disposal. I am seriously considering moving elsewhere , I have been a loyal customer of ebay for  20 years now. They should think hard about losing loyal customers.

I have no access to your account so cannot see if you have had any long or short break from selling and returned, if you have then the security measure is certainly not nonsense, and does work.

Sudden selling on a dormant account especially the selling of low value items and then some high value items are sold,  raises red flags to eBay as this could be a sign that the account has been hijacked.  So tracking showing delivery is essential here,  and holds can be longer.

Since that hold has been introduced I certainly have seen a fall in questions here from members asking how to proceed as their account has been hijacked,  leaving them with hundreds / thousands of pounds of refunds to make.

It is a security measure that does work.

If you have tracking showing delivery for those items contact eBay Customer Services provide the tracking information and they should release those payouts sooner.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

 https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

Lines open between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

I recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

this would not work because in my experience only about 5-15% of buyers leave feedback and it would be the same for confirming delivery.

Great, You have £300 pending, Its your money in your account. Do you really need to draw money out every day or every few days. Whether you get it 2 days after delivery or after 14 days its still there.

Consider it a rolling 14 day period... as your selling new things your money is cleared from older sales. Try withdrawing your money monthly like i do. Its hard for the first two weeks as your have limited income with payments pending but after that it trickles into your account every day. I Now dont really see much difference from before.

Okay, let's say you have £100 waiting to be received but meanwhile you sell a few things and you have to pay for the postage from the £100 you are waiting so when it's time to receive your money instead of £100 you get half because they took the other half to pay for postage labels, this way they hold your money all the time because you are paying for postage from your funds all the time. So they use your money without paying you interest, very good business for eBay, not for the private sellers.
