Can someone explain to me how the Virtual tracking actually works as I've had issues and cant work it out.
Basically I sell an 'untracked' item and print the Royal Mail label directly through eBay - I then post it in the post box.
The items tracking then just never updates, it just sits there saying awaiting delivery. This was not a one off, It happened to about 20 parcels I sent, until i decided to start using a paid tracked service again.
I can only assume its down to 2 reasons... The first potentially being I have posted it in a postbox i.e. not handed it over a counter to have the tracking activated? Unlikely, but a thought... I did actually have one of them collected and it still didnt work, so that possibly rules that theory out.
The second potential reason is the address on the ebay generated labels do not have the code included in them i.e. the ebay?????? code on the 2nd line. I find it strange that if this is a requirement to have on the label and the fact i'm asking ebay to produce the label, its not inputting this information into the address automatically... Or is the expectation that I enter this myself?
As above, I'd say I sent about 20 parcels off and none of them tracked, and out of these parcels, 2 people said they never received it, which may have been them just trying their luck as they saw I had no proof otherwise.
Any advise would be appreciated.
