Buyer says re delivered item has gone missing?

I’m a bit puzzled on this one.

i sold some meta raybans and posted the same day the buyer paid 28th July. Then a couple of days later the buyer raises a “item not received”  complaint to eBay saying the item is being returned as it wouldn’t arrive in time for a holiday?


I got a message from EBay saying that I used Simple Delivery they will work with the buyer to resolve the problem and I don’t need to do anything. 


A couple of days later eBay said item delivered and the case is now closed.

 

But this morning the buyer is complaining that he asked the RM to deliver the item to a PO collection point, but they instead delivered to someone else’s doorstep and he is now complaining that he is out of pocket and as the seller I need to claim back from RM.

 

However, I have received another EBay saying that I used Simple Delivery they will work with the buyer to resolve the problem and I don’t need to do anything.

 

Should I respond to the buyer or leave it to eBay? What if the buyer leaves negative feedback?

Leave it to ebay.   With Simple Delivery if the item is lost in transit they will refund the buyer and you keep the payment.   You could reassure the buyer but if ebay refunds they're unlikely to leave neg f/b.

In this instance, having used Simple Delivery, if they do leave Negative or Neutral Feedback please contact Seller Help to have it removed.

You can politely tell the buyer to open a case with eBay and claim via buyer protection (i.e. eBay not yourself ) or contact the courier directly, but you don’t have to.

 

It no longer your responsibility if a buyer instructed the courier to leave it in a safeplace and they have left it elsewhere. 

 

Legally you have fulfilled your contract with the buyer and have no further obligation, dont worry.
