Just need to ask if there are things being put in place to accommodate the changes? The message I got was currently only UPS provides this service and I cannot use UPS. This would mean essentially the main part of my sales will be wiped out meaning I will have to close my account and move on. I'm sure this will be sorted but it's worrying. Other services coming like EVRI and royal mail? eBay already requires me to buy the postage through them as such so I'll need services in place! I hope the costs of these services and inconvenience doesn't cripple sales as well. Then there's international sales... That will need the GSP to have an option for it no?
As a side note if we are getting age verification for selling now surely we can start selling actual knives with this service soon? Or surely more categories are going to be added such as antique items or vintage butchers cleavers? Thanks.

The following or similar types of bladed products aren't allowed:

I've had to almost give up on eBay for a while. But I've come back hoping it was sorted out but it looks worse now... Can't even see options to add age verification postage to items... Is eBay self imploding or something?

I'm selling vintage dressmaking scissors. I, and the buyer, chose Ebay's option of Royal Mail 48hr service with age verification. The first time the item sold I couldn't send by RM as that option had disappeared and UPS (at double the price) was the only option available for preparing a label. The buyer asked for the sale to be cancelled and I re-listed the item. I thought the problem was that she lived in Scotland but obviously not, as the same has happened this time! I contacted Ebay help last time, and was told it was because the RM service was not available in that area.
Any ideas to solve this problem please?

I see people selling WW II daggers, but eBay cancelled my listing of a vintage pocket knife. Where will I find the age verification option? It's not appearing when I try to relist, so I've listed the item again as collection only. Probably won't work, but one never knows...

So I tried again, this time selecting post only, and once again the option to select age verification is just not available. I saw a listing for a 51cm long sword the other day, so I'm still baffled why my tiny, blunt 100 year old penknife can't be listed. I give up!

Certain items simply can’t be listed now due to laws and legislation, anything bladed is a gray area
you can’t sell a Stanley knife, or blades, or snap knives or blades at all regardless of postage or age options, I suspect penknives fall into the same category as this, although much more dangerous items are still available for sale as you rightly say

The lunacy is eBay ask for age varification to buy the item when they know how old it's members are. Then age varification on delivery Which is expensive but if the postman turns up with your chisel and you are obviously over age even though the package may be for your son then they don't even ask for varification.THE WHOLE SCHEME IS MADNESS If you need a knife open the kitchen draw
