Best Offer and combined postage

I recently sold 2 separate items to the same seller who bought both of them through Best Offer. I wanted to send both items in the same parcel using one of the pre-paid labels, thinking there would be an option to somehow combine postage. When I looked into this on eBay's Help pages, it says you can't combine postage on Best Offer items. I sent the 2 items in the same parcel anyway.

Did eBay really want me to send 2 individually packed items (in this case 2 records) to the same person using 2 separate postage labels? That's ridiculous. What's so special about Best Offer items that postage can't be combined?

Use this link to claim a refund for the label you didn't use. This is possible if you as the seller was paying for the labels. If the buyer was paying, then they will automatically get a refund for the unused label after a period of approx 14 days I believe.

Best Offer and combined postage

Hi, thanks for the response. The buyer paid for the labels so no issue for me but I just don't understand why you can't combine postage on Best Offers. Just seems illogical.

Best Offer and combined postage

The eBay AI bot will combine if the buyer put both items into his basket and checked out both at the SAME TIME as one unit. Any other way then it will do one per sale.
