Bad weather affecting sellers

I posted an Item on the 9th jan ,we live in wales and have been affected by the recent bad weather ,snow ,ice & flooding .I sent the item 2nd class which can be 2 -3 days with royal mail ,but ebay only allowed 1 - 2 days for the parcel to get to buyer and now they have opened a case against me because they haven't received the item ,it is only 12 th today  ,so I am very annoyed . Do ebay not know that there has been bad weather across the country delaying deliveries .

Yes, most of the UK as affected.   Royal Mail had a bad week with the highest rate of INR cases I've seen.   I expect that seller protections will be announced soon for the January period, but ebay often take a few weeks to announce these.
