New payment rules

What an unbelievably stupid and unfair idea this new system is. I know it starts from 4th of Feb,  does it include current auction that ends past that date?

New payment rules

Any auction that was started before the 4th Feb,  and ending after that D Day,   will not be subject to the new fees, but will be treated the old / current way.

Any auction starting on or after the 4th, then those will be subject to the new changes for fees.

Existing Auction style listings ending on or after 4th February won't be subject to the new 'Buyer Protection Fees' but they will be subject to the new payment rules, i.e. payment will be released 2 days after confirmed delivery or otherwise 14 days after date of order.

Some of your items are under the value of £10,  so you may not have seen this announcement,  which will hep your lower priced items.

If your items are under a £10 in value level,  they will be exempt from the necessity to add a tracked service,  see eBay's latest announcement here:

We’ve also heard your feedback and understand that shipping costs are particularly top of mind for low price items. When you’re selling a single item for £10 or less, and it’s sent untracked, funds will now be available 24 hours after you receive positive buyer feedbackThis will be live by the end of February.

Yep,  I know,  most buyers do not leave feedback, and I would never usually recommend this,  but sending the buyer a polite message,  asking if they would kindly leave some feedback, explaining with eBay's new rules, payouts from sales are not released until a buyer leaves feedback.

I would though recommend not asking the buyer more than once,  as it could then look like harassment.

Think most buyers then would leave some ?

thanks  for replying  it is just so stressfull and im sick of chasing buyers to leave feedback i have set auto feedback to try and speed things up but trying to get the buyers to leave the feedback is like pulling teeth after 24 years im so tired of always losing out as ebay have always had the buyers?/ scammers/cheats winning every time even when the proof was there ebay just collapse and give in i am searching for another platform to sell on if not just give up and send all my junk to the local charity shop

I feel your pain. I am a private seller, don’t sell much, just when having a downsize of my collection. Just read about the £10.00 and under rules, can’t get my head around this utterly stupid idea. Not many people bother to leave feedback. So you’re forced to send it tracked? And now I’ve just discovered they put their eBay seller protection on the item you list, I put something on for £99.00 the next day it was £104.65 thought I was going mad so revised it to find they changed it again, so ultimately the seller is paying this not the buyer, if they should put this on the final fee, I don’t know if this is a fixed fee? so I had to lower my start price. I assumed that buyers were already covered in this country for purchases so I guess this is just another money grabbing scheme. I don’t post abroad anymore because of the long wait for payment. Who are they looking out for??? It’s certainly not sellers and without them they wouldn’t have buyers. 🤬🤬
