I have been with eBay for many years. Having recently sold my boat I have had a lot of gear to sell. On the 9th June I requested a payment of accrued funds and this was successfully had to my bank account. Then on 1st July the automatic eBay payment kicked in and a further payment was successfully received into my bank account. Now I am being told to verify my account. Given that I have already received two transactions to my account there is obviously nothing wrong and the account is therefore verified. eBay... please get your act together and remove this stop on my funds. You are still happy enough to take money for purchases I make.

It’s possibly ebay are wanting to verify who you are. This will require a photo ID. Ive actually had this today (on this business account) although no idea why as I haven’t made any big sales (sales have actually dropped) and haven’t done anything different or have any defects. Ive just resent my photo ID, which is something ebay should already have as Ive done it before.

I am not a business account but having said that the volume of sales I have had recently has hit some sort of limit where eBay have to notify HMRC. As a result of that they wanted my National Insurance Number and I can see that listed now on my Profile. I have had nothing about a photo ID just this stupid requirement to verify my bank account, which they have used for two payments already.

The ongoing *bleep* of the new eBay payments system....
I did the micro-deposits route. eBay made the micro-deposits. I told them the amounts. I got an email saying the account is confirmed. Now today I get another email that payments are on hold again...
Hi Ian,
We require sellers to maintain a payment method on file to pay for fees and other selling costs. Your payouts are on hold because eBay has determined that your current payment method is not valid. This can happen if attempts to debit your bank account or charge your card have been declined, returned, or eBay could not confirm microdeposits to your account.
To get paid, please add a payment method to your eBay account.
I suspect that my bank has declined to give the micro-deposits back?
Time to think about giving up on eBay and go for some other on-line selling system....

As far as I can remember Ebay take the micro deposits back by using the direct debit set up on your bank account.
Check your account to make sure you have a direct debit to Ebay set up.
If you have set that up correctly, Ebay are able to reclaim the very small amounts they pay you. Your bank cannot decline a direct debit unless there are insufficient funds in your account or they contact you first.
