wrong parcel delivered

Parcel delivered but the parcel is not the item i ordered.royal mail shows the parcel in vid delivered but that parcel (parcel too small for the wheel trims) is not the item i ordered and is in fact a toy monkey that the seller says is posted by EVRI.The parcel i ordered has not arrived but the seller has received notifiction that it is delivered................something is dodgy and amiss here,basically we have a delivery from EVRI? that has been delivered by Royal mail (royal mail van seen on cctv) but the item is not what we ordered...

Sounds mixed up trying to convey what has happened.Cant upload vid or other files.

Informed seller  of issue but they just sent back message as delivered.Also their phone number listed doesnt work....

No idea how this has happened, but if the seller has tracking showing delivered then the way to proceed is to treat the parcel you did get as one of not as described and open a case on that basis.

I.e you have ordered one item, you have received one item, and that item is not what you ordered.

Open a return using the reason: "Does not match description on the listing" 

Your seller gets 3 days to resolve, and if they don't you escalate on day 4 for ebay to step in.

DO NOT open an "Item not received" case as you would lose the case straightaway once the tracking shows that you have received something.

Thanks for that id have gone straight to 'item not received',this is complicated,i spoke to our local postie and he mentioned terrible agency workers messing up deliveries,sadly other half burnt the parcel wrapping that we did receive,but we have the contents a toy monkey that we ordered from other ebay seller when we should have received wheel trims.Somebody at Royal mail is causing issues.See what develops....Its still the case the wrong parcel has been delivered and has been photoed by delivery man and shown on royal mail site,,,,stop press stop press literally knock at door as writing this and the original/correct parcel has now been delivered. what a saga.Thanks for the answers.

sorry for late reply,the monkey was received and its delivery was registered on royal mail and even photo taken (the parcel photo on royal mail site could be seen to be too small for the wheel trims) it got complicated ,as the monkey parcel photo was supposed to be the wheel trims that had been classed as delivered !!!!.In the end it was down to agency royal mail workers not doing their job correctly (told this by our regular postie).Lol hard to explain.
