I sold an item and used simple delivery to send via Evri, the buyer changed the delivery to pick up from a Parcel shop, but when EVRI tried to leave it at the parcel shop they decided not to accept it and issued a return to Sender. but for some reason 2 return to sender commands were in the system leaving the system in confusion. The buyer raised a Not recieved Complaintand Ebay reviewed the system
meanwhile EVRI have now delivered to the Buyers parcel shop on the 27th , but on the 28th Ebay decided to refund the buyer and sent me this message.
We've reviewed your case and have decided to issue the buyer a refund of £36.00 without any impact to you.
This case is now closed. You aren't required to reimburse the buyer or eBay and this case will not be counted in your seller performance evaluation.
Well thank you ebay, how do I get my my item back?

It is good that you got your money and shows that the Simple Delivery cover for sellers works.
Thinking aloud though, I wonder what will happen to the parcel now?
The buyer has been refunded so it's not really theirs and you have been paid, so it's not really yours.
I wonder as well, if Ebay stands the loss in cases like this, or they have some sort of an arrangement with Evri.
Long-term, Ebay refunding INR cases could be very expensive!

in case others have a similar experience the source of confusion is that when the Buyer is refunded (by Ebay) this incorrect message appears on the web site when the seller looks at the item. I guess the process has not been updated for Simple Delivery failures
