Yodel lost parcel

Hi, hoping for a little advice.... 

I recently sold my sons Nintendo switch on eBay. It's been a while since I last sold on eBay and the postage automatically defaulted to Yodel delivery through Packlink. I posted the parcel and received confirmation of the courier collecting the parcel and being received at the depot but then there has been no update for 19 days now. 
I raised it with Yodel and they "conducted a search" and it wasn't found. I raised it with Packlink and they said I am only entitled to £25 as I didn't purchase enhanced protection . 
I will happily refund the purchaser as they have not received the item but does anyone know if there is a way that I am covered for the value of the item ? It doesn't seem fair when I've used a "reputable" courier with tracking and they have just lost it but have no responsibility. 
Any advice welcome ,  I will be using Royal Mail in future !
