Verify my age

I am trying to buy some cutlery and have been asked to verify my age by giving the details of my credit card which i have done, but it keeps telling I can’t use a debit card which I haven’t.

Why wont it accept my credit card ?

An everyday use Debit Card will not be accepted --- must be a (Monthly Statement) Credit Card to prove your age as being over 18 >
