Hi
first off I’m inexperienced with eBay
i sold an item and the buyer had selected 2nd class normal post £1.55
when I took the small package to the PO they scanned the QR code and printed the label before telling me that it wasn’t sufficient and would cost £3.75
In order to get it sent I offered to top up the difference and was told I couldn’t.
the item itself is very small - a bracelet but I sold it with a box (Mulberry) which wasn’t the origin item’s box and I think perhaps the buyer hadn’t taken in to consideration the size/weight of the box.
so, I didn’t post it and now don’t know what to do.
Ive messaged the buyer but no response.
tracking info says I’ve sent it / presumably cos the postage label was printed by PO (despite not being used!)
any help:advice would be much appreciated. Thank you

You can't blame the buyer for this.
you listed the bracelet with £1.55 postage which is the cost for a large letter. The buyer paid the price in the listing.
You should post the bracelet. You can pay for a new label at the Post Office and get a refund on your unused label.
I sell a lot of small items of jewellery and I can often use Large Letter postage but, if you put an item in a box, wrap a bit of bubble wrap around it, and put it in a padded envelope. it will be too deep to send as a Large Letter.
You should absorb the extra cost as this was your error.

If you used simple delivery then that can be when size matters, you have to then supply your own postage and tracked service at your cost, then edit the order to enter the tracking details,or contact ebay CS for them to enter the details for you eBay Customer Service

It is not up to buyer to know weight/size of item, they can only pay what you have selected. You cannot ask buyer to pay more then what you put in your listing and should post before you run up against other problems.
