Hi there, just been looking at a coin for £70 , which I nearly bought, then read the description and it said coin not for sale ,but you will get a photo of the coin. I thought this was fraud so reported it to eBay, but they didn't remove it. 7 already been sold, so there are going to be a few unhappy customers. How can I let someone know that people are getting ripped off. Also as a reputable seller of coins it doesnt help my business.
Thanks in advance

I have no idea why someone would wish to buy a photo of a coin for £70 but if the description clearly states it's a Photo which will be sent, then strange as it is, there is no deceiving here, and the buyer will receive what the description states, a Photo.
Can you show us the item number here, so we can see the actual description, thanks.

There has been another post on this subject on this board.
In that one the seller used a photo of the coin and not a photo of a photo, which is enough to get a refund. They also probably listed in the coin category, also grounds for a refund.
So buyers can get their money back through ebay and your business can't be damaged as you are selling as a private seller.

@tressygirl I think they are assuming it's a coin. Remember the scams involving photos of PS5 boxes in Covid?
What I don't understand is how the seller thinks they will get away with it.

Yep I'm sure they are misreading it, but if the description does describe it as a Photo, will the MBG refund under a SNAD case, when the item is clearly described as a photo.
Wish we had an item number to see exactly how this ' coin' is actually described.

When a listing contains contradictory information a buyer can choose whichever suits them, so one where the description doesn't match the photos is grounds for a SNAD.

Excellent , lets hope those buyers read and know of eBay's MBG.
If enough cases are opened then for SNAD, that'll be the only way this seller will be closed down.
Don't know how these people sleep at night knowing they have scammed people! 😐
