Seller Description Excludes Refund for Non-Delivery

I am interested in an item but seller says they will not refund if the parcel goes missing. This is "due to recent problems with Royal Mail". No ifs or buts and no offer to use a tracked delivery service - just a proof of posting.

My question is; what is the position with ebay Money Back Guarantee? Would the exclusion override the guarantee?

The item is starting at £99

Seller can't override ebay MBG.

You can open item not received case 1 day after estimated delivery date.

Escalate 4 days later, ignore seller.

Of course, no reason why it shouldn't be delivered.

OK, thanks. That is what I thought, but good to have confirmation. As you say, missing items are rare in my experience. Hopefully it will just be delivered with no issue.
