Reserve price fee refund on cancelled items

Hi

I recently had to cancel a sale after the buyer did not pay after 4 days. I had paid a feefor a reserve price, surely this should be refunded? If so, will it be automatic or do I manually have to request it?

Many thanks

Re: Reserve price fee refund on cancelled items

Thanks for the response. However, how is this justified? I have already been inconvenienced by a non-payer, why should I also be out of pocket through no fault of my own? Is there any way I can formally complain?

Re: Reserve price fee refund on cancelled items

Ebay won't refund fee, you agreed to pay it when listing item.

Forget reserves, start auction at minimum you will sell for.

No, eBay states that listing fees are non-refundable.

Personally, I'd avoid using this feature and would start the auction at the lowest price you'd be happy to accept (this effectively acts the same as a Reserve and doesn't cost anything).

Re: Reserve price fee refund on cancelled items

Hi and thanks for the reply. Good idea regards starting at desired reserve price instead.

I get what you’re saying regards agreeing on paying reserve price listing fees when listing but that of course is on the assumption the buyer is going to pay up!

Thanks again anyway

If bids don't reach the reserve, you still pay the fee.

As said, reserves are waste of money.

I respect paying the fee if the goods don’t sell due to reserve not being met, that’s the whole point. I’m talking about where the reserve is reached but then the buyer doesn’t pay up.
