Refund scam

I bought headphones from eBay and they turned out to be fake so I requested for a refund. After a couple days my refund request was accepted, but the seller was telling me that he wasn’t able to print out a shipping label and the seller was asking for my PayPal details, which is a red flag. So I said I don’t feel comfortable with sending the details and I would like the whole refund  process to be done on eBay. Now I need to send my item back by the 21st with no shipping label, which is annoying and on my eBay there is no ask eBay to step in button.

Re: Refund scam

If you opened the correct return case, NOT AS DESCRIBED, then seller provides a return label. If they have not, then after 3 days, that is on day 4 escalate to ebay, who will either provide label at sellers expense, or just refund without any need to return.

If you have not opened a proper return case, then do it now.

By tge way you did not buy from ebay, you bought from a seller on ebay. Ebay sells nothing.

Re: Refund scam

I opened a proper return case. If I open up eBay it lets me know that my item is in the return process. However I’ve still got no “ask eBay to step in” button. Btw I meant I bought from a seller on eBay, but thanks for ur help

Re: Refund scam

The 'ask eBay to step in' should appear after 4 days, unless you've had those headphone for more than 30 days and they are no longer covered by eBay's Buyer Protection.

Can you just confirm how long you've had them?

Re: Refund scam

I’ve had them for 11 days. But it requests for me to send the item back by the 21st of October. However the button hasn’t appeared yet and it may be because the seller is actively messaging me asking for my PayPal details regularly. I’m not too sure why I haven’t recovered the “ask eBay to step in” button. Thanks for your help

Re: Refund scam

Because the deadline for return is quite close, I would contact Ebay Customer Services and let them know you have not had a label from the seller.
