Recall for faulty product

I got a message from eBay regarding safety of a product purchased in May this year. They told me to ask seller for refund. The seller asked for PayPal details including my email for refund. I tried to give the seller these details but eBay would not let me send the details because it took me outside of eBay. I didn't purchase the product via PayPal to start with. I raised an issue with eBay but it didn't take any action. The seller is saying it can only refund via PayPal. Is it just a case that eBay doesn't give a *bleep*tt?  I sent a screenshot of my purchase to seller with the order number but still no refund. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance

If it's more than 90 days since payment the seller can't refund through eBay.

 

If they are a business seller then alternative contact methods should be on the listing.  If not can you screenshot your PayPal details?
