Proof of Delivery to Buyer-Provided Address – Case Appeal

The buyer purchased a product from us. After making the payment, they sent a message asking to ship it to an address different from the one listed on eBay, which I did. The package was sent to the address provided in their message.

Three weeks later, the buyer opened a case claiming that the card did not arrive. I contacted DPD and obtained confirmation that the item was redirected to the address provided by the buyer and was successfully delivered.

The buyer then filed a complaint with eBay for a missing item, and eBay refunded them, claiming that I did not provide proof that the card was shipped. However, the DPD tracking clearly shows the address to which the buyer requested the package to be redirected.

Sorry, but you were conned.

You only have ebay protection if posting to address supplied when buyer paid.

You should have cancelled as problem with buyers address, then relisted so they can buy again and put correct address.

Proof of Delivery to Buyer-Provided Address – Case Appeal

You have no seller protection at all if you go ahead and ship an order to a different address from the one showing in the order details.

Buyers can change their delivery address at checkout before paying. If they don't, then the seller should cancel and then they can re-purchase with the correct delivery address.
