Private sellers are finished on eBay

I've just had the email we're all talking about. as a long term private seller (22 years now) I will not be sending items out, to only get payment once the buyer is happy.

Even with my 100% feedback rating, I feel like that's just asking to be scammed.

Also, charging people for buying from private seller too? eBaying saying these fees will be clear at checkout, but they won't be clear when bidding, though?
People will be winning bids, then cancelling orders once they see how much it's actually going to cost at the checkout.

It's not free to sell, they've just moved the fee's to the buyers, while keeping the sellers money in the ebay system.

I've removed my items for sale from eBay, I won't be selling here again. I don't do this with anger, I do this because I don't agree with the user agreement.

It's a shame eBay isn't how it used to be 10/20 years ago, These changes will likely cost ebay millions, I however will just use another site.

Bye!

I have had the email - it doesn't say that you will be paid 'once the buyer is happy' but when the item is delivered.

I think a lot of private sellers will be leaving - I may still list from time to time, but, for me, 'simple delivery' is the final straw.  I want to decide what postage service I use and will no longer be able to.

Hopefully, a lot of 'private' sellers who are blatantly trading and breaking consumer law with a 'no returns'policy, will upgrade their accounts when they see their are no longer any benefits to a private account.

We shall see.
