Negative feedback removed

It looks like my negative feedback has been removed by the seller. I've just read a similar thread about this, explaining that feedback can be removed if a refund is given. I don't think that is acceptable and it discourages me from wanting to use eBay. If I see a seller has 100 negative feedbacks this year, should I assume the actual number is much higher than that? That causes me to lose confidence in the platform. I received a refund from eBay, but I still want other eBay users to know what that seller is capable of. Did eBay refund me, or did they get it from the seller. I shouldn't have had to raise the complaint, but the seller showed no interest in helping me with my mis-delivered item. Only automatic replies asking me to close the dispute. They should have refunded me and chased the courier for their refund. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they did get a refund from the courier and didn't pass it on to me (eg. they get a sale and compensation = double profit). This was not in my negative feedback. My main gripe was that they have such poor communications, and no offer of help. Other potential buyers should know about that. I'll have to stop buying from high volume sellers because of this experience.

Negative feedback removed

Sellers cannot remove negative feedback, but if buyer says something that is not allowed they can ask ebay to remove it.

Ebay are their own worst enemy, by increasing the number of words allowed in feedback, the more said the greater the chances of buyer saying the wrong things.

If leaving negative just keep it brief, “Unsatisfactory transaction” says it all, and marking down the star ratings will do more damage than the negative.

Seller making a refund does not cause feedback to be removed, if buyer opens a case and seller deals with it promptly and if appropriate refunds without delay, it should never come to bad feedback.

Negative feedback removed

Thanks, John. I needed to vent. I suspect that high volume sellers can have negative feedback removed sometimes, probably because eBay wants to keep them on side. My feedback was maximum length but I don't think there was anything wrong with it. I'd like to see what I wrote, but I expect it is gone forever.
