So, after receiving this crazy update, like many others regarding Ebays ridiculous change to postage, I'm struggling to find out if this will effect me.
I am a small business and upcycle mostly, chests of drawers and will only use my reliable, independent courier as opposed to big companies who take no care. Can I still use my own courier and what option do I click? If I can no longer have this option I, and I suspect thousands of others will no longer try to sell on this platform.

"I am a small business"
Not according to your registration so cannot properly advise.

outgoings and incoming. With my 1 day a week part time job I am still
nowhere near to my personal allowance but if I go over the £1000 earnings
in the last tax year from my upcycling I shall inform the relevant people.
Needless to say I wish I could sell more furniture but hopefully this
clarifies things so that you can let me know if I can still list on Ebay
and use my own courier.
Regards
Margaret

As you are making (upcycling) to sell you must register as business seller, its the law.

Having a business account on Ebay does not mean that you will have to pay tax on your earnings and, if you are keeping records, completing a self-assessment for HMRC should be fairly easy in any case.
But, as you are buying to upcycle and sell on, you should have a business account - see the link for all details.
Business sellers are not subject to the Buyers Protection Fee and don't have to use simple delivery.
