I purchased 2 right angle drill attachments. The seller informed me that they were BOTH damaged by the courier and returned to the seller. The seller has asked that I cancel the order. I can see no way of doing this. I've pointed out to eBay that the seller is now selling the same item, but for double the price. No refund. eBay AI informs me that I should WAIT for items to arrive, yet messages from the seller make it clear the items will never arrive. How can such a clear case be so difficult to get a refund?

If you are still within the 30 days allowed by eBay and the eBay latest date for delivery is past the open a non-receipt case. Do not bother to contact eBay or the seller. Unless the seller can show delivery you will get a refund. The system is automatic when you open a case.

If the item was sent by Simple Delivery then the refund will come from ebay, but you have to open a case for item not received.

the frustrating part is that the delivery is untracked.
That doesn't matter. Tracking is for the seller's protection, not the buyer's.
Once the latest estimated delivey date in the listing has passed, open a case as already advised.
eBay will automatically find in your favour and issue a refund unless the seller can provide postal tracking proof that they were delivered. Which they won't be able to.

Buyer cannot cancel, seller has to cancel, and if you do not agree to this then seller gets a defect on their account, so do not be conned into agreeing to anything, which could cancel your protection.

Messages don't override the strict timescales that the money back guarantee uses.
