Did you mean:

wrong size wellies received.

I ordered a size 6 navy wellies and reived a size 8. They are too large.  I want to return them and the only option is for me to pay return postage.  The error was not mine and I do not think I should pay for postage.  The  seller has many wellies for sale .

Nope. you do not have to pay for the return postage, just follow this process, exactly:

If you are still within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery you are guaranteed a full refund,  under eBay's 30 day MBG,  Money Back Guarantee policy.

Just proceed this way:

You have received an item not as described,  go right of the item in your Purchase History and from More Actions select... Return this item selecting the reason Item Does Not Match Description or Photos.

The seller needs to accept this case within 3 days and refund,  if they want their item back first , they need to pay for that fully tracked return postage, then on receipt of their item they have 48 hours to refund you.  If they don't ,  need to escalate the case,  ask eBay to step in, and they'll force the refund.

Never listen to any excuse or promise from the seller to close the case early,  and do not forget to escalate.

If you used "Doesn't fit" as your reason for return that is classed as "change of mind" where buyers pay postage.   If the seller was wrong you should have used "Not as described".   Contact ebay and ask if they will change the reason for you.   You can use callback on here:

Thank you for your reply. I try my best to be as honest as possibe in all
my dealings in life.

I would not think so say I changed my mind for something that I DID NOT
CHANGE MY MIND.

I needed the wellies because I was to travel to the caribbean on 18/11/25,
why would I
changed my mind?

Your reason tells me that if I can say I changed my mind when I did not,
then to me that
means you may not have had my size but decide (according to your reply) if
you do not
have my size you can just send another that you have.

I will do as you suggest. To me it is not feastable to pay return postage
of nearly £4 for
an item that is only nearly £9. If I had change my mind I would have been
find with your
advise.

Regards

I am saying you made a mistake.   It is ebay that class the reason you gave as "change of mind".   Good luck with getting it changed.
