Is it Good or Bad for users

Here's one for our long suffering Mentors. Seeing that eBay seem not forthcoming with answers about these recent changes and why they have done them.

Am wondering looking at it from our side (eBay users) because you read and comment on all the messages posted on here if you have come across anybody yet who has said "what a great idea" Buyer protection is makes my buyers buy lots more from me although they pay extra "Yeh right"

Any praise for eBay now sending invoices for them to their buyers and not combining the postage if multiple lots bought.

Are they happy with the new complicated Simple delivery method instead of just using Royal Mail like before?

Also saying its much easier and better to use and not turning buyers and sellers off.

Keep up the good work Guys you must have temperaments of Solomon.

You can read the forums and see what opinions members are expressing.

Mentors certainly don't have time to read all the posts - especially when some threads are dominated by dissatisfied users repeatedly trotting out the same old repetitive, dull stuff.

Many mentors sell as well and we have the same choice as everybody else - accept the changes and adapt to them or try elsewhere.

Personally, I don't think Simple Delivery is 'complicated' and, of course, you can still use Royal Mail.

Solomon was known for his wisdom and his writings, rather than a particular temperament.

Maybe you are thinking of Job?

Re: Is it Good or Bad for users

At  least Solomon had a solution that worked!

Ummm, 🤔 !  No,  I personally haven't come across any post / thread praising these quite epic changes for both seller and buyer,  but I have seen a few ( I mean a few!)  who have said they've seen no difference.

My personal standing is similar to many others.  That is,  I've removed all my listings, not through anger or bitterness,  but with great sadness , as I've truly enjoyed my time selling on eBay.  I've removed the items because I do not own an iPhone , I own a Nokia brick just to make texts and phone calls, not to receive emojis or emails, and thus no QR codes for me 😪.

Also, I just cannot bring myself to take prepaid postage items to my very hard working family in my little PO for them to receive 3p per item , to process said item.

Ending items, they'll  stay for 90 days in unsold, I'll review the situ then,  as I'm sure many will be doing the same , to see just by the slimmest of chances, things have returned to as they were ?

I know, hope is a  glass half full here  !  😊

One or two posts that seem a bit positive about SD, but that might be sarcasm.

No posts that are positive about the BPF except where they compare the final value fees as were with the equivalent BPF, and demonstrate that it should be cheaper for buyers.

Re: Is it Good or Bad for users

Sorry for being another dissatisfied user and for trotting out more dull stuff, good for you being capable and happy using Simple Delivery but my question still is why has eBay changed it?

Reading your reply hope eBay have not had you locked in a dark room somewhere scary what they can do brainwashing people these days if you think these changes are a good thing.

Always thought you Mentors were as you say one of us and on our side.

You have convinced me I will have to give it another try to adapt and accept the changes like yourself.??

In answer to your question why have ebay done this, in short it gives them another revenue stream for all the labels purchased.

Re: Is it Good or Bad for users

Hi tressygirl,

I learn something every time I come on here did not know I will we need an iphone as well in future? I think we have 2 knocking about which we don't use, like you we also have a Nokia which we lone out to our local museum to show the kids what it was like in the old days.

Again like yourself I removed what items I had still outstanding and will Wait and see.

Will have to start knitting again like I did 60 odd years ago in the navy drinking days are over and much to old to chase the women?

Never mind I will find something.

Re: Is it Good or Bad for users

I knew it I thought it was my warped mind thinking they were doing it for themselves and not for their valued sheep I mean customers like they told us?

Just as bad as our politicians and that's really stooping low.

Probably get a knock on the door saying this.
