Incomplete Lego set sold as complete

I bought a Lego set which was sold as complete as a gift over a year ago. I've now given the gift and it transpires there are several pieces missing. The seller has now deleted their account. Any advice on what I can do?

If the purchase was over a year ago there's nothing you can do now.

eBay have a 30 day Money Back Guarantee and, if you funded the payment with a debit or credit card you would have had 120 days to get a refund via them. 

You're way out of time to pursue a refund.

I thought it might be the case. Lesson learnt - need to process pieces as soon as received.

You can buy spare pieces for Lego, both on eBay and other sites. If they know which pieces are missing and there aren't too many of them and they're relatively cheap, it may be worth looking at replacing them.
