How to deal with adequate returns as a seller

Hi all, I had two watches returned today, both because buyers changed their minds - no problem at all - however they were returned thus:

Watch A was sold with good/average packaging and has been returned covered in sellotape, in a paper bag so has sustained enough damage rendering the packaging obsolete. The watch was also not repackaged correctly and hanging out of the box. Thankfully no damage to watch. I estimate I can relist this watch for £65 instead of market value of £75.

Watch B was returned with protective seals removed and a missing cleaning cloth. I think it will relist at £95-£100 instead of £119.

I'm trying to not let the lazy care-free attitude of the returns cloud my decision making here 🙂

I had hoped to reach out to ebay for help in making the right call rather than trying to thrash it out with the customer but perhaps I don't need to. Does the community have recommendations in how to manage these two returns?

Many thanks!

There are circumstances when ebay allows a business seller to adjust the refund to take account of these issues, but certain conditions have to be met by the seller.

You should be able to check using the help search function.
